Physiotherapy

Our Physiotherapists (PT's) can help people improve their physical mobility, strength, and overall well-being. Physiotherapists work with individuals to manage disabilities that affect movement, prevent injuries, improve function, and enhance independence in daily activities.

Physical Mobility and Movement

Our Physiotherapists support individuals with physical disabilities to improve mobility and movement through:

  • Strengthening exercises to improve muscle tone and stability.
  • Stretching exercises to enhance flexibility and reduce stiffness.
  • Gait training (teaching how to walk better or use mobility aids like crutches, walkers, or wheelchairs).
  • Postural correction to reduce discomfort and improve alignment.
  • Balance and coordination activities to prevent falls and improve overall stability.

Hydrotherapy

Our Physiotherapist provide Hydrotherapy! also known as aquatic therapy, this is a type of therapy that uses water to help individuals with a variety of physical conditions, disabilities, and rehabilitation needs. It’s an effective treatment option for people with mobility issues, chronic pain, and other health conditions.

Assistive Technology (AT) and Equipment

Our Physiotherapists assess the need for Assistive Technology (AT) or mobility aids, helping participants access the right equipment for their condition, such as:

  • Wheelchairs, walkers, or scooters.
  • Orthoses (braces) or splints.
  • Devices to assist with standing, walking, or transferring.

They also provide training on how to use these devices safely and effectively.

Education and Training

Our Physiotherapists educate participants and their families on managing their condition at home and in the community. This may involve:

  • Teaching safe movement techniques to avoid injury (e.g., lifting properly).
  • Providing exercise routines to maintain strength, flexibility, and general health.
  • Offering advice on posture, ergonomics, and body mechanics for daily tasks (e.g., sitting at a desk or using a wheelchair).
