Occupational Therapy

Our Occupational therapists (OT's) supporting people to live more independently, improve their quality of life, and engage in daily activities. OT's work with individuals to develop, recover, or maintain skills necessary for daily tasks, whether it's at home, school, work, or in the community.

Skill development

Our OT's assist with skill development in areas like:

  • Self-care (e.g., getting dressed, eating, personal hygiene).
  • Managing daily routines and activities.
  • Social skills and community participation.

Building Independence

A core component of OT in the NDIS is helping participants become more independent. This could involve:

  • Creating strategies for daily tasks.
  • Adapting routines to improve efficiency.
  • Training carers and families on supporting the participant's needs.

Assistive Technology

Our OT's often recommend and provide training on using assistive devices that help with daily activities. For example:

  • Wheelchairs or mobility aids.
  • hoists, commoded
  • Tools to help with writing, eating, or dressing.

Home and environmental Modifications

If a participant requires modifications to their living environment to improve accessibility, OTs can recommend adjustments like:

  • Installing grab rails, ramps, or accessible kitchen setups.
  • Providing assistive technology (e.g., specialized furniture or equipment).
  • Complex home midifcations such as bathroom refits

Functional Assessments

Our facilities are designed with children in mind, featuring a playful and engaging atmosphere to help kids feel comfortable and motivated. We have a variety of specialized equipment and materials to support each child's unique needs and interests.

SDA Assessments

Assessment to determine whether a person with a disability requires Specialist Disability Accommodation, and if so, what specific housing and support needs they have.

The goal is to ensure individuals with high support needs can live in accommodation that is suitable, accessible, and meets their needs for safety, independence, and well-being.
